Michael Irvin spoke to a couple hundred recruits Saturday at Miami’s second annual Paradise Camp.
Moved to say a few words after Ed Reed gave a lengthier speech, Irvin’s message was brief and focused.
“We’re reminiscing about our history,” he said of the former Hurricanes who coached at the camp.
“You’re writing yours. Let me tell you: Write well. Don’t let anybody write your story for you.”
Write well, he said, “so you can one day be like us, and reminisce well.”
